Texas Law Enforcement Supports Greg Abbott’s Securing Texans Policy Plan
“CLEAT is committed to General Abbott’s plan to push back hard against transnational gangs and international drug dealers,” said Sgt. Todd Harrison, President of the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT). “Border violence, crime and drugs have plagued Texas for too long and CLEAT wants to see Texas communities and families safe again.”
Lon Craft, Director of Legislative Affairs at the Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA) offered his organization’s support of Greg Abbott’s policy proposals, saying, “There are many reasons why TMPA has endorsed Greg Abbott. Certainly three of the biggest are his work to protect the children of Texas, to eradicate domestic violence and to address the spillover violence along our southern border. Organized and transnational crime are not just political buzz words to General Abbott – he truly understands the threat and is the only candidate for Governor who has a plan to try and stop the evil that threatens the great state of Texas.”
In addition to CLEAT and TMPA, the following law enforcement organizations have offered their support for Greg Abbott’s Securing Texans plan:
- Department of Public Safety Officers Association (DPSOA)
- Houston Police Officers’ Union
- Houston Metro Police Union
- San Angelo Police Officers Association
- Dallas Police Association
- Baytown Police Association
- Harris County Deputies Organization
- Brownsville Police Association
