This is a guest blog from Texans for Greg Abbott intern Megan.

imageWhen I was told about an internship opportunity for Greg Abbott’s campaign, I didn’t have to think twice. I was already a supporter of Abbott because of his strong defense of the Constitution and our constitutional rights.

I decided to apply for the opportunity because I wanted to get involved in Texas politics. One day, I hope to represent the state of Texas. Who is a better example to follow than Greg Abbott?

Since starting the internship, I have focused on increasing college students’ and young adults’ awareness of issues in our state and our need for a great leader.

When I talk to students on campus, most tell me they don’t care about politics. I realized the need to inform people about politics because it affects everyone—even if someone doesn’t think it does. Most young people probably do not realize that ObamaCare will take a bad toll on our healthcare system. I want to make sure people are aware of this and what Greg Abbott is doing to fight against it.

Through this internship, I want to show young adults how important it is to be aware of political issues. Most importantly, I want to show them that Greg Abbott is the perfect candidate to protect our constitutional rights from federal government overreach.
