AUSTIN – The Texas Oil and Gas Association (TXOGA) Good Government Committee today endorsed Governor Greg Abbott for re-election. In the TXOGA PAC’s endorsement video, the association’s President Todd Staples said that under Governor Abbott’s leadership, “the oil and natural gas industry continues to anchor the Texas economy.” Staples went on to praise Governor Abbott’s commitment to free market principles and common-sense regulations that create the environment for the oil and gas industry in Texas to thrive.

“The Texas Oil and Gas Association is the oldest organization representing petroleum interests in Texas, and I am grateful to receive their PAC’s endorsement,” said Governor Abbott. “Texas’ economy would not be the global powerhouse it is today without the oil and gas industry. Over the next four years, I look forward to continuing to work alongside organizations like TXOGA to take our state’s economy to even greater heights.”

Texas Oil & Gas Association (TXOGA) is a statewide trade association with approximately 5,000 members representing every facet of the Texas oil and gas industry including small independents and major producers. Collectively, TXOGA members account for over 90 percent of all oil and natural gas produced in Texas, they operate a vast majority of the state’s pipeline mileage and gas processing capacity, and they are responsible for a preponderance of the state’s refining capacity.
