AUSTIN – On Saturday, May 5th, Texans for Greg Abbott hosted its spring “These Boots Were Made For Block Walking” event to knock on doors and contact voters throughout Texas in order to elect Republicans up and down the ballot. Over 300 volunteers participated in the statewide event, knocking on over 15,000 doors, more than both Democrat gubernatorial candidates combined throughout this campaign season. Governor Abbott joined in the event in Dallas where he addressed statewide participants via Facebook Live, followed by remarks to the Dallas county volunteers. He then met with voters in Dallas County as he block walked with other event participants.

“This campaign is taking the Republican message of economic opportunity and individual liberty to every corner of the state,” said Governor Greg Abbott. “As we enter the final six months of the campaign, our team will be focused on driving up turnout for Republicans up and down the ballot. We will leave no stone unturned in our effort to keep Texas red.”

A video, released by Texans For Greg Abbott today, highlights the broad participation and success of Saturday’s event.
