AUSTIN – Texans For Greg Abbott today released a new web video entitled “Opening Texas Safe, Smart, and Strong.” The video features Texas business owners from around the state and highlights the way the Lone Star State is safely and strategically opening the economy while prioritizing the health and safety of all Texans.

 

SCRIPT:

NEWS ANCHOR: We begin with Texas Governor Greg Abbott today and his series of new orders today to reopen the Texas economy.

DR. NOLAN E. PEREZ, MD, FACP, FACG: We are opening our business in a phased in, slow and responsible fashion.

NEWS ANCHOR: Starting this Friday, May 8th, hair salons, barber shops, nail salons, and tanning salons can open. And on May 18th, the Governor says gyms and other exercise facilities can open as well.

PARKER MCCOLLUM: It’s time to get Texans back to work safely.

THERESA NARAMORE AND CHERYL GREEN: We understand taking a gradual approach.

MATTRESS MACK: Let’s get back to work because work is life’s greatest therapy.

DR. JAYARAM B. NAIDU, MD: Use masks in public places.

CARLA SISK: Make sure you are supporting your local businesses.

JUAN MEZA: Paper this morning about cars lined up for the food bank. I love these people who are our employees, our neighbors, and family members.

ORLANDO AND YOLI ARRIAGA: Governor Abbott allowed restaurants to stay open, which really was Taco Shack’s saving grace. These steps that we have taken has allowed us to get to this point.

DOUG MCREAKEN: We’re Texans, we know the work.

DR. SANDI L. HAMM, DDS: Governor Abbott has outlined a great plan.

STACEY GILLMAN: Governor Abbott has issued Executive Orders that are safe, cautious, yet getting us back moving in the right direction.

WESLEY WEAVER: Leaders have to lead, and you know, we have to get back to business.
