PROPOSITIONS ON THE BALLOT
- Proposition 1 creates a fund to improve and expand workforce training that helps Texans obtain high-paying jobs.
- Proposition 2 bans a state tax on capital gains, allowing Texans to keep more of their hard-earned money.
- Proposition 3 keeps dangerous criminals off our streets by allowing judges to deny bail for heinous crimes, including rape, murder, and human trafficking.
- Proposition 4 dedicates $1 billion annually to fund critical water projects across Texas, including improving water systems, fixing aging pipes, and ensuring Texans have reliable water sources for the future.
- Proposition 5 exempts animal feed inventory from being subject to property tax; helping protect the future of Texas farmers.
- Proposition 6 protects Texans’ retirement accounts, pensions, investments, and Texas’ stock exchanges, safeguarding your hard-earned money and our growing financial sector.
- Proposition 7 provides a property tax exemption for the surviving spouse of a veteran who died as a result of a service-related injury.
- Proposition 8 bans the unnecessary act of taxing your inheritance, allowing Texans to keep more of their own money.
- Proposition 9 lowers property taxes on the tools and equipment Texans use to make a living.
- Proposition 10 provides a property tax break to Texans whose properties have been destroyed by fire.
- Proposition 11 raises the property tax exemption, from $10,000 to $60,000, on taxes imposed by school districts for seniors and people with disabilities.
- Proposition 12 holds judges and justices more accountable for judicial misconduct.
- Proposition 13 raises the homestead exemption, from $100,000 to $140,000, on taxes imposed by school districts, lowering Texans’ overall property tax bill.
- Proposition 14 provides money to establish the Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (DPRIT) for research preventing and treating dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and related disorders.
- Proposition 15 enshrines in the Texas Constitution that parents are the primary decision makers for their children.
- Proposition 16 ensures that only U.S. citizens can vote in Texas elections.
- Proposition 17 exempts property owners in Texas counties that border Mexico from increases in their property tax bills due to border wall construction.
