CLEAT and affiliate groups gather at Fort Worth Police Officers Association

FORT WORTH – Law enforcement groups across Texas today announced their endorsement of Governor Greg Abbott for re-election at a press conference hosted by the Fort Worth Police Officers Association. The Governor was joined by Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn, Tarrant County Commissioner Manny Ramirez, Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT) Executive Director Robert Leonard, Corpus Christi Police Officers Association (CCPOA) President Henry Mangum, Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Bexar County (DSABC) Chairman Rene Ochoa, Arlington Police Association (APA) President Jesse Minton, the National Latino Law Enforcement Organization (NLLEO) President Juan Hernandez, and other law enforcement officers and elected officials.

“I cannot express enough gratitude for your support,” said Governor Abbott. “You represent the very best of our state. Thank you for your sacrifice, your service, and your bravery. As long as I’m your Governor, I will have your back and we will keep Texas safe and secure.”

“CLEAT is proud to endorse Governor Abbott for another term as our Governor,” said CLEAT Executive Director Leonard. “Our 28,000 members protecting Texas communities appreciate the leadership that Governor Abbott has shown as well as his unwavering support. Governor Abbott has the backs of Texas law enforcement, and we look forward to continued work toward improving the lives of our men and women in blue.”

“The Corpus Christi Police Officers’ Association is proud to announce its endorsement of Governor Greg Abbott for re-election,” said CCPOA President Mangum. “Governor Abbott has continued to show support for law enforcement and a commitment to strengthening public safety across the Great State of Texas. His policies have consistently prioritized officer resources, training, and community safety initiatives which are essential for maintaining effective policing in Corpus Christi and throughout the State. The CCPOA is confident that Abbott’s leadership will continue to provide stability and support for the law enforcement officers who serve and protect our communities.”

“The Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Bexar County is honored to endorse Governor Greg Abbott for re-election,” said DSABC Chairman Ochoa. “We look forward to continuing our partnership to ensure our communities remain safe, strong, and secure. Our deputies serve on the front lines of public safety every day, and we pay close attention to which leaders stand with us when it matters most. Governor Abbott has demonstrated consistent, meaningful support for law enforcement across Texas—and especially in the communities of South Texas, where our deputies face unique challenges. Governor Abbott’s actions have strengthened the tools, resources, and legal protections that peace officers rely on to keep Texans safe.”

“The Arlington Police Association Political Action Committee and its members fully support Governor Greg Abbott’s run for reelection,” said APA President Minton. “The Arlington Police Association understands that Governor Abbott not only protects Texas law enforcement, but he also supports their mission each and every day. It was clear when he spoke at the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas Convention in McAllen, Texas in September; we heard loud and clear he ‘Backs the Blue.’ The Arlington Police Association proudly gives Governor Abbott our endorsement in his upcoming reelection campaign.”

“Governor Abbott’s commitment to Public Safety aligns with the values of the National Latino Law Enforcement Organization,” said NLLEO President Hernandez. “We have seen firsthand the positive impact his leadership has had across our communities, in North Texas, particularly in Dallas.
