AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today received the endorsement of the Texas Forestry Association (TFA), a leading conservation organization representing the men and women who grow, manage, harvest, and steward Texas’ forest resources.

“I am grateful to receive the endorsement of the Texas Forestry Association and the hardworking Texans who care for our forests every day,” said Governor Abbott. “Texas’ working forests are essential to our economy, our environment, and our rural communities. Together, we will continue advancing responsible forest management, protecting private property rights, and ensuring our forests remain healthy, productive, and resilient for generations to come.”

“The Texas Forestry Association is proud to endorse Governor Abbott for re-election,” said TFA Executive Director Rob Hughes. “Governor Abbott recognizes that Texas’ working forests and the families who manage them are essential to our state’s economy and environmental health. His commitment to supporting sustainable forestry practices and protecting private timberland owners ensures that Texas forests will continue to thrive for future generations.”

Founded in 1914, TFA is a leading statewide conservation organization representing private forest landowners and the full forestry sector. TFA advances sustainable forest management and policies that strengthen Texas’ forest economy. Texas has over 12 million acres of commercially productive forestland, where more than 83 million trees are replanted annually. Active forest management is critical to jobs, conservation, and wildfire risk reduction. With nearly 88% of East Texas timberland privately owned, TFA serves as a powerful voice for the Texans who steward the state’s working forests.
