As governor, Greg Abbott will ensure that our children are taught by the most effective teachers at schools led by the most effective principals. Great teachers and principals are key components of student success, and our educators must be equipped with the support and resources they need to provide a world-class education for Texas children.
To make sure our educators have the tools for success, phase two of Educating Texans will:
- Give bonuses for high scores on college readiness exams directly to the teachers who inspired their students’ success.
- Support recruitment of additional Science, Technology, Mathematics and Engineering (STEM)-focused teachers in Texas public schools.
- Offer campus leadership programs for principals so they have the resources they need to manage and lead effectively.
- Create Reading-to-Learn Academies and Math and Technology Achievement Academies tasked with training 4th and 5th grade teachers on the most cutting-edge and innovative teaching techniques.
