AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Steve Ehrig to the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority Board of Directors for a term set to expire on February 1, 2019. Additionally, the Governor reappointed Oscar H. Fogle, Rusty Brockman, and Kenneth Motl for terms set to expire on February 1, 2023. GBRA oversees water resources for the communities in its 10 county district.
Steve Ehrig of Gonzales is owner and partner of Ehrig Brothers Ag, E Barr Feeds, and E Brothers Ranches. He is a member of Gonzales County Underground Water Conservation District, Young farmers of Texas, TALL – Texas Ag Lifetime Leadership Program, Gonzales County Agents’ Advisory Board, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, and Texas & Southwest Cattle Raisers Association. Additionally, he is a director with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, a past vice president of Gonzales Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, past president of the Gonzales County Farm Bureau and the Gonzales County Appraisal District Agriculture Advisory Board, and a former announcer for Gonzales Livestock Show Association.
Oscar H. Fogle of Lockhart is owner and operator of Oak Hill Ranch. He is a trustee of Guadalupe-Blanco River Trust, trustee- emeritus of Texas A&M University – Kingsville Foundation Board, chairman of First United Methodist Church Board of Trustees, chairman of Caldwell County Appraisal District Agriculture Advisory Board, and member of Drought Preparedness Council. Fogle attended Texas A&M University- Kingsville and received an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force.
Rusty Brockman of New Braunfels retired this past March as the vice president of Economic Development for the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce. He is also a retired public educator, with 28 years of service. He is past president and a current member of the Texas Economic Development Council, past president and the 2017 Grosse Opa of the Wurstfest Association, member of the Lions Club, Spark Small Business Center, and the Guadalupe Basin Coalition, and an advisory board member of Resolute Health Hospital and Food Bank of New Braunfels. Brockman received a Bachelor of Science in health, physical education and recreation from the University of Houston and a Master in Education and Administrators certification from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Kenneth Motl of Port Lavaca is a veterinarian and owner of Bayfront Animal Hospital. He is a member of Texas Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, and the Golden Crescent Veterinary Medical Association and secretary of Calhoun County Soil and Water Conservation District. Additionally, he is a member of Victoria Ballet Theater and Texas A&M University Corp of Cadets Association. Motl received a Bachelor of Science in biomedical science and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University.
