AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today met with officials from Tarrant County to highlight his plans to reform property taxes across the state and keep Texas affordable.
“Local governments have run rampant hiking property taxes, and hardworking Texans deserve to keep more of their money,” said Governor Abbott. “With a two-thirds voter approval on all local property tax increases, everyday Texans will be put back in the driver’s seat.”
The Governor was joined by Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare, Tarrant County Precinct 3 Commissioner Matt Krause, and Tarrant County Precinct 4 Commissioner Manny Ramirez.
Governor Abbott signed his pledge to protect taxpayers, while Tarrant County officials agreed to endorse his agenda to lower costs for Texans. The Governor touted Tarrant County as a great example of local government empowering taxpayers and encouraged other counties to follow suit.
