Governor Greg Abbott last night delivered remarks highlighting the slate of conservative, pro-growth legislation passed in the 89th Regular Legislative Session at the Webb County Republican Party 2025 Lincoln Reagan Dinner.

“We’ve just completed the most successful session since I’ve been Governor,” said Governor Abbott. “Now we are on the pathway that will see Texas ranked number one for educating our kids, cutting property taxes, growing the economy, and providing more jobs. The future is even brighter. We’re going to keep Texas the best state in the greatest nation and the history of the world.”

Speaking to a packed crowd of over 300 Republican supporters, Governor Abbott highlighted the conservative wins from the legislative session. He touted that Texas delivered the largest day-one launch of a school choice initiative in history along with an historic teacher pay raise. Additionally, Texas passed the Parent’s Bill of Rights, removed explicit materials from schools, and passed legislation recognizing only two sexes- male and female. Governor Abbott also highlighted the laws he signed to provide property tax relief by increasing homestead exemptions. Wrapping up his remarks, Governor Abbott addressed a deadly bail crisis in Texas that he declared an emergency item this legislative session. He worked with the Texas Legislature to reform a broken bail system that repeatedly released violent offenders on our streets.

The Governor was joined at the dinner by Senator Mayes Middleton, Representative Don McLaughlin, Judge Tano Tijerina, Alexis Nungaray, Webb County Republican Chairman Jose Salazar, Jr., Texas Values President Johnathan Saenz, and other state officials and Republican leaders.
