Texas Farm Bureau Backs the Governor’s Reelection Campaign
RAYMONDVILLE – Governor Greg Abbott today received the endorsement of multiple agricultural organizations that represent the backbone of the state’s booming economy.
“I am very grateful for the endorsement of all these organizations, but even more grateful for what they do every single day in the agricultural industry for Texas,” said Governor Abbott. “The Texas Farm Bureau, Texas Irrigation Council, Texas Wine and Grape Growers PAC, Lone Star Hemp Coalition, BEEF PAC of Texas Cattle Feeders, Texas Cattle Raisers PAC, and all the other groups who couldn’t be here today understand the importance of having good leadership in Austin. All of them have a Governor who has their back. I am deeply grateful for all who are involved in farming and ranching across Texas. Working together, we will keep Texas, Texas.”
The Governor was joined by Texas Farm Bureau President Russell Boening, Texas Irrigation Council President Troy Allen, Texas Wine and Grape Growers PAC Vineyard Director Ricardo Rubino, Lone Star Hemp Coalition Representatives Aaron Gregg and Jeromy Sherman, Heath Grigg with BEEF PAC of Texas Cattle Feeders, Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Director Freddy Nieto, Texas State Representatives Ryan Guillen and Denise Villalobos.
“Governor Abbott continues to prove that he is a leader for all Texans,” said Texas Farm Bureau President Boening. “Farmers and ranchers continue to face challenges with financial losses due to natural disasters, personal safety from illegal border crossings, interference with normal farming and ranching practices by government overreach, and the threat of losses from pests like the New World Screwworm. Governor Abbott has been a champion for farmers and ranchers in addressing these challenges. We need to keep a leader like Governor Abbott in the Governor’s mansion. Texas Farm Bureau AGFUND strongly supports Governor Abbott’s reelection.”
“The Texas Irrigation Council is proud to endorse Governor Abbott for his leadership on water issues that matter most to Texas irrigators and our agriculture communities,” said Texas Irrigation Council President Allen. “Governor Abbott understands a simple truth: water and agriculture are inseparable. By prioritizing water resources and working in partnership with agriculture stakeholders, he has helped ensure that farmers and ranchers have the water they need to grow crops, support rural economies, and keep Texas agriculture strong and competitive. The Texas Irrigation Council is proud to stand with Governor Greg Abbott.”
“As a $24 billion economic engine for Texas, our wine industry depends on leaders who understand its value and potential,” said Texas Wine and Grape Growers PAC Treasurer Myers. “Governor Abbott’s commitment to supporting Texas agriculture and rural economies is why the Texas Wine and Grape Growers PAC proudly offers its endorsement.”
“Governor Abbott’s veto of the hemp ban was a defining moment for more than 53,000 Texas workers, thousands of small businesses, and an industry that contributes nearly $6 billion to the Texas economy each year,” said Lone Star Hemp Coalition member and Bayor City Hemp Company CEO Meggs. “At a time when fear and misinformation were driving the conversation, the Governor chose facts, free enterprise, and personal responsibility over prohibition. That decision protected law-abiding retailers and manufacturers, preserved access for adult consumers across our state, and sent a clear message that Texas supports responsible business and not government overreach. Equally important was the Governor’s emergency executive order restricting hemp products to adults 21 and over. That action proved Texas can lead with smart regulation instead of reckless bans. It strengthened public safety while allowing responsible businesses, especially small family-owned companies and veteran owned operations, to keep their doors open and their employees working.”
“Cattle Raisers PAC proudly endorses Greg Abbott for reelection to serve as the Governor of Texas,” said Cattle Raisers PAC Co-Chair Polk Jr. “Governor Abbott has supported ranchers and landowners during his tenure as Governor, and we are confident he will continue to be a strong advocate for our interests in Austin.”
Governor Abbott is committed to protecting Texas’s agriculture, livestock, and other areas of crop production. Last year, the Governor signed the largest water investment in the state’s history, which included fixing aging water infrastructure that is crucial for farming, securing irrigation for all Texans for generations to come. Under Governor Abbott’s direction, agribusiness will continue to thrive, providing jobs and food to Texans across the state.
