CYPRESS – Governor Greg Abbott today called on Texans to turn out for the Constitutional Amendment Election, urging a packed room of voters at Cypress Trail Hideout to solidify all the Republican wins delivered during the 89th Legislative Session.

“We have an important election coming up,” said Governor Abbott. “I’m not talking about next year, I’m talking about right now. Many of these propositions involve either cutting taxes or keeping dangerous criminals locked up behind bars, and that’s something Republicans and Democrats can both agree on.”

The Governor was joined at the Get Out the Vote stop by Senator Paul Bettencourt, Senator Lois Kolkhorst, Senator Mayes Middleton, Representative Charles Cunningham, Representative Lacey Hull, Representative Mike Schofield, former Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg, and Harris County Republican Party Chair Cindy Siegel.

Governor Abbott highlighted several key propositions that solidify the conservative victories from the 2025 Legislative Session, including:

  • Proposition 3 which keeps dangerous criminals off our streets by allowing judges to deny bail for heinous crimes, including rape, murder, and human trafficking.
  • Proposition 4 which dedicates $1 billion annually to fund critical water projects across Texas, including improving water systems, fixing leaking pipes, and ensuring Texans have reliable water sources for the future.
  • Proposition 6 which protects Texans’ retirement accounts, pensions, investments, and Texas’ stock exchanges, safeguarding your hard-earned money and our growing financial sector.
  • Proposition 15 which enshrines in the Texas Constitution that parents are the primary decision makers for their children.
  • Proposition 16 which ensures that only U.S. citizens can vote in Texas elections.
