Too Little, Too Late From Biden on Border Security in State of the Union

AUSTIN – In tonight’s State of the Union Address to the nation, President Joe Biden claimed he wanted to secure the border, but it’s too little, too late after canceling the effective policies of his predecessor.

Faced with a sputtering national economy, skyrocketing inflation, and now a war in Europe he could have done more to prevent, President Joe Biden neglected to address the many crises that he has inflicted upon the country by reversing the secure border policies of President Trump.

“Tonight, President Biden finally acknowledged the fact that his open border policies have flooded our schools and neighborhoods with deadly fentanyl, allowed hardened criminals to flee into our country, and encouraged horrific human trafficking. But it’s too little, too late from a President who could have left in place the policies of his predecessor which actually secured our border. When President Biden says he wants to secure the border, does that mean rebuilding the Trump wall? We’re not waiting to find out. In Texas, we’re building our own wall,” said Governor Abbott.

Governor Abbott also noted that unleashing the power of American ingenuity was the key to helping the world rid its dependence on Russian oil saying, “If President Biden really wants to help the world energy market, instead of releasing three days worth of oil from the reserve, he should unleash the American oil and gas sector. Texas could not only help supplant the energy that America gets from Russia, but it could also help supply Europe, a continent dependent on the oil and natural gas of a tyrant.”

Instead, President Biden and his fellow Democrats would have America become even more dependent upon foreign oil by forcing us into their Green New Deal, a job killing liberal fantasy that would destroy hundreds of thousands of good paying jobs in Texas and force us to rely on Russia, Iran and the Middle East for the oil and natural gas our economy requires.
