Becoming a Volunteer Deputy Register (VDR) in Galveston is quick and easy. Follow this short list of steps and then reach out to Texans for Greg Abbott to find out how to locate unregistered voters who would likely vote Republican.

All Texans who want to register new voters must be certified by their county. To qualify as a Deputy Voter Registrar you must be:

  • 18 years of age
  • Never convicted of a felony

As long as you meet these standards, you are ready to begin the certification process. Your next step is to fill out a short application you can find here and attend a VDR training session. Applications are also available in spanish.

These training sessions will take place on the third Friday of each month at 2 pm in the Commissioners Courtroom at the Galveston County Courthouse, located at 722 Moody Ave. No appointment is necessary. Simply bring your VDR application and a positive attitude.

Training sessions will take place during the summer and fall of 2019 on the following dates.

  • June 21st
  • July 19th
  • August 16th
  • September 20th
  • October 18th
  • November 15th
  • December 20th

Upon completion of training, you will receive a VDR handbook, Certificate of Appointment, VDR name button, identification card, voter applications, registration supplies and the authority to distribute and receive voter applications within Galveston County.
